Lancome Teint Idole 24H Makeup Foundation Review

Hey everyone! How's your Sunday going? 

Today I wanted to do a quick review of this Lancome foundation that I have been wearing for a little while. I got a sample from Sephora back in October while on the hunt for a new foundation. I have tried several tons of foundations claiming to be the next big thing. But none seem to fit the bill. Well before I get into the review, I must share with you some background info on my skin.

I have combo/oily skin that is prone to breakout...mainly cystic acne face demons. Plus I have a lot of scarring left behind by those said demons. So my skin is a bit tricky to work with and most foundations just don't do much for me. Now I have a few face powders that I go and forth with from time to time but foundations aren't something I have to choose from in my makeup stash. 

So this Lancome foundation is called Teint Idole Ultra 24H Makeup! Yup, that's a mouth full. On the box it says "wear & comfort, retouch-free makeup, divine perfection for all skin types". Normally "oily" skin people can't be in an "all skin types" category.  But somehow this foundation works for me. Lately I have been extra oily due to medications I'm taking so I still do get a bit oily through this foundation but it's not as bad as if I were to wear other liquid face products. So below I have broken down all the claims and my thoughts on this baby.

*Lancome claims that this foundation is it's first 24 hour foundation that was launched after 8 years of research. I'm sure this may be the first 24 hour foundation for Lancome but as for the 8 years of research for this one product...not too sure if I believe that. 

*Full coverage & velvety matte finish: I do find this foundation to be on the fuller side of coverage. Totally full coverage? No! it's not. I can still see my scars through the foundation, so I just add a little more in the areas I need or use concealer. There is a slight sheen to my skin(not to be mistaken for shimmery or luminous) I guess I should say it's not completely flat looking when applied. 

*This foundation is Oil free, Fragrance free, Transfer free, Non-comedogenic and Tested on sensitive skin: I like all these qualities in this product. It's very important for me to find products without pore clogging oils, without fragrances to irritate my sensitive skin and most importantly ones that are not pore clogging or acne causing. Two Thumbs up!!

*24 Hour claim: Well honestly I never wear makeup for a full 24 hours. I only usually get 8 hours of makeup wear in my day. So it's does last and it doesn't break down after 8 hours, so I'm happy. 

*Price- $45 It's a bit steep for 1 oz. of foundation but this will last me a while. Besides, a little goes a long way. On average most department store foundations are around this price. 

*SPF 15: Good to have in a foundation. It doesn't have that flashback look in photos, so it's perfect for those upcoming holiday portraits.

My Bottom line: 

I really like this foundation but not the price, hahaha. I find that I still get oily but I know it's due to medications I'm on...one of those being RetinA. It feels very lightweight and smooth. It blends so easily and it can be built up without looking cakey. Would I buy again? Yes I would unless I try something else that's better. But for now this will be my go to foundation to carry me into the winter months. I would recommend this for those who are combo, normal or slightly oily. Extremely oily skin can use it but make sure to apply a mattifying primer underneath and a sheer powder to set it. Oh by the way, I don't normally use a powder to set this foundation. I use my Hourglass "diffused light" all over very lightly.

Natural FX foundation from Cover FX

Hello Everyone!! So I have recorded a few foundation reviews and I thought why don't I post a blog on one of them?? I have decided to review the Natural FX water based foundation from Cover FX for you guys.

This product and many others from Cover FX can be found at Sephora stores and on their website. So I'm going to break down the good and the bad of this foundation which I hope helps you all. There are lots of good things about this foundation. It claims to have "all day wear" which in my opinion with my extremely oily skin it does stay on. The reason why I chose this foundation was because of all the good qualities about it. I felt good about putting this product on my skin without having to worry that it was going cause more break outs on my acne prone skin. And now the break down..........


Pros: 
* I love that its water based meaning there's more H2O then bad "no good" ingredients like Oil.
* This foundation is Oil Free, Fragrance Free and best of all non- comedogenic... yay!!!!!
* It has also been tested and recommended by Dermatologists (stated on the packaging)
* It contains several vitamins that help nourish the skin.
* It has an SPF 15
* I really like the squeeze tube packaging which makes it easy to store in my makeup collection and to travel with.
* This line of foundation has a pretty good range of colors for those with cool, warm or neutral undertones. You will notice a letter B,C,E,or M in front of a number on the box. B=golden deep tones C= cool with pink undertones E= equal parts of pink and yellow tones and M= more yellow/olive tones. (I wear M20, which is very yellow to cancel out my pinkish/reddish undertone)

Cons:
* It is not the foundation suited for very oily skin as it claims to "leave skin rehydrated and radiant looking"
It makes my skin look very greasy, not a good look!
* It's really only suitable for normal and combination skin types.
* With my skin undergoing changes due to prescribed acne meds, this foundation really enhances my dry patches.
* If you have any dry spots on your face this foundation will cling to those areas- also not good!
* The formula is very pigmented so it does provide a nice coverage but it's just too thick for me.
* It's a little pricey..... $40 for 1 oz.

As you can tell there are lots of things that I like about this foundation but unfortunately the "greasy" look is not what I'm into, LOL. If you are interested in this foundation, ask a Sephora makeup artist for a sample on your next visit. I like samples because you are not obligated to purchase the items and you get to try something new. So I hope this review helps in your quest for a new foundation. Urban Decay Naked Palette Review

So..everyone has been raving about this new palette from Urban Decay for a long time. This is a great palette to have in your makeup collection. It is absolutely worth the money. You can purchase this product at www.ulta.com or www.sephora.com or www.urbandecay.com or visit your local Ulta and Sephora stores. I know that this palette may be sold out in these store but no worries...Urban Decay is going to continue making them. Don't freak out, lol. Now on to the reasons why I love this so much. I love the quality, consistancy and pigmentation of the eyeshadows. Urban Decay is by far one of the best cosmetic brands for eyeshadow. I am never disappointed with any of their shadows. You get so many different shades which allows you to create tons of looks. You can wear a barely there naked look to a more dramatic here I am look. I love this! There is nothing better than having a versatile palette in your arsonal. This palette is sleek and compact which allows you to carry this in your purse or carry on bag. I have done several tutorials on my channel with this product. I can't say enough good things about this palette. I would totally recommend this product to everyone. Get it while it's hot!

Eyeshadow Primers- Reviews

Hi Everyone!! I am currently posting a new video on my channel about all the different types of primers that I own and use. I reviewed 5 different primers and showed swatches of a drugstore eyeshadow over each of the them. Below you will see a picture of the swatches...I started on the right and worked my way to the last primer. The first swatch on the right is of the eyeshadow without a primer base. 1st primer: Too Faced shawdow insurance- One of my favorites. I have been using this product for 2 years now. It's a no fail product that is one of my must haves in my makeup collection. This primer does not crease on my whatsoever. I have oily lids so its important to use a good base that will prevent creasing throughout the day. And...this is one of them!! It's a clear primer that feels silky smooth when applied. Comes in a squeeze tube! Price- $17 and can be purchased that Ulta and Sephora.

2nd primer: Lorac behind the scenes- This is my second favorite primer! It too is clear and silky when applied. This primer helps my eyeshadow stay on all day and night. It's another no fail product that I can see in my makeup collection for a long time. This primer comes in an awesome squeeze tube! Price- $22 and can be purchased at Ulta.

3rd primer: Smashbox photofinish lid primer- I've had this product since last year and honestly I don't use it as often as I thought I would. It has a doe foot applicator which can be good as far as getting the product out quickly but must the UDPP, after a certain point it's hard to get the bottom bits out. This primer has a peachy pink tint and it applies a bit on the thicker side. What I like about this primer is that since it has a color to it, it helps conceal any redness or little veins you may have on the lid area. Remember that area is super thin and delicate! If you have redness or veins that you would like to conceal, try this primer. Although, some use concealer; if you have oily lids like me then concealer won't prevent oil build up. Price -$18 and can be purchased at Ulta.

4th primer: Urban Decay primer potion- This is another clear primer when applied. I find that this primer is a bit oily. The primer potion has creased on me before. I don't know if it's from using too much of product or not enough. I feel as though you should only have to use a tiny amount to prevent creasing so this primer may not last as long as the first two primers I reviewed. This primer has a doe foot applicator and the package is not the best. It's hard to get the last bits of primer from the bottom. On the bright side, Urban Decay has come out with the primer potion in a squeeze tube!! If for whatever reason my Ulta is sold out of Too Faced and Lorac, then this would be an alternative. Price- $18 and can be purchase at Ulta and Sephora.

5th primer: Benefit Stay don't Stray- This primer has two purposes...can be used as an eyeshadow primer and as a concealer primer. I haven't try this underneath my concealer yet. As far as the eyeshadow primer part....this primer is slightly thick and has a yellow color. Again, like the Smashbox primer, this too can be used to cover redness and veins on the lids. The down side is that you end up wasting more product then you will use. The first few pumps, you will notice that way too much product come out...enough for 3 days worth. Not good! After you get a hang of the pump then not so much is wasted. I will probably not repurchase this in the future. Price-$24 and can be purchased at Ulta and Sephora.

Yes, Jack Black is a skincare line designed for men but this product can be used by men and women. I have been using this product for 3 weeks and I really enjoy this lip balm. I usually keep this lip balm on my night stand because I really mostly use it at night before bed. When I wake up in the morning my lips feel hydrated and super soft. This a good product to have in your makeup bag, nightstand, or in your bathroom. I will repurchase this product when I run out. The only other lip balm/chapstick type product that I have been repurchasing over and over is the original chapstick so I think I may have found a much better substitute!! The great qualities about this product are:

* Cruelty Free

* Contains an SPF 25 which is key in lip products year round

* Has a slight tingle from the natural mint flavor

* Contains Shea Butter which is great for hydration

* It's only $7 for .25oz

* You can find this product at Ulta, Sephora or the Jack Black website

L'oreal Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base Review

I have been using this new Loreal magic perfecting base for over a month. Let me just say that I love this primer. I have used other brands and none of them compare. It's so good that I have 3 backups just in case they discontinue it. Loreal has recently created a line of new products that were designed by professional makeup artists. This new line has several different products that are called studio secrets. This awesome primer is labeled as studio secret no.1. You can find this product at any local drugstore, which is great. It costs about $12 for .05oz which isn't a lot of product...but the good thing is that a little bit goes a long way. I've been using the same jar for over a month. This primer is super fluffy almost like a whipped mousse with a slightly pinkish color. I love how smooth this makes my skin feel. Another great quality is that it makes my foundation glide so smoothly onto my skin. My foundation blends easier and lasts so much longer. When I apply this primer, it almost acts like a mattifier. Which if you have oily skin like me, this is good! I would recommend this product to other people. I would buy this item again once I run out of my backups. Physician's Formula Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiner Review

This is what the custom eye enhancing gel liners look like. They are stackable which is great. I can choose the 3 shades I want when traveling or I can stack just 2 shades. I can even just take one shade with me. I purchased the eye enhancing gel liners for green and blues eyes. I know I don't have either of those eye colors but the gel liners are in the colors I was looking for. I purchased these at CVS. Unfortunately, I have not seen them in other drugstores. I would purchase these gel liners again. These are a great bargin item in drugstores. This new line of products designed for eye colors also include Shimmer Strips color enhanching mascara duos and Shimmer Strips color enhancing shadow & liner pop collection. These gel liners and other products come for all eye colors. Visit CVS or check your local drugstore for these products.







Here's the swatch for the Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiner for green eyes. I love how pigmented these liners are. Another great perk is that they are cheap...around $11 for 3 stackable shades! These gel liners apply very smoothly. They last all day which is great.

Coastal Scents Review

Napoleon Perdis Review

I am finally doing a review on two products. For months I've been using smashbox photo finish foundation primer and I'm pretty pleased with the product. But recently I've tried out some Napoleon Perdis products. I can not say enough good things about the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot pre-foundation skin primer. I love this stuff. It smells so good and it has kind of a lotion feel. The smashbox primer has a silicone feel, so to most people it feels oily. I don't think so but everyone has their own opinions. So I've been using the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot for about 2 months already and I think I've found my new foundation primer. It has vitamin e which helps strengthen and smooth skin's texture, chamomile extract and yarrow extract which help fight free radicals in the air. I got mine from Ulta for $39 which is the only place you can buy this item. Of course you can purchase online or visit one of Napoleon's boutique shops. The other Napoleon Perdis product I've been using is the China Doll foundation. Let me tell you, this foundation is so good. It combines good skin care ingredients with a good coverage foundation. This foundation is $50 so you only need just a pea size amount to cover your entire face. I know $50 for a foundation is very steep for some people but I feel like it's a good investment for your skin. Just think about it....how many bad ingredients can you find in drugstore brand foundations? Probably a lot that would in the long run harm your skin. Not to mention that most drugstore brands have added oils that only do one thing....clog pores! I would like to do another review on the Napoleon Perdis foundation stick also sold at Ulta stores. So I will let you all know when that review will be posted.
