Ipsy May 2013 Glam Bag

Hello my fellow makeup lovers!

I hope everyones Saturday is going great. As stated in my last post on the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows, my video opening my new Ipsy May Glam bag and mini haul could not be uploaded to YouTube. Why? Who knows! So here's the details of the goodies I got in my bag :)

Ipsy May 2013 Glam Bag

This bag is super pretty with the teal and orange chevron patterns. I will definitely reuse this bag to store my makeup inside my handbags. So here's the lowdown (L to R)  Zoya nail polish in Jacquelinne,  Yaby Cosmetics concealer refill pan (my shade is buff), St. Tropez Instant Body Glow lotion, NuMe finishing serum, and Juice Beauty lipgloss in "Pink".

Overall, I am pretty excited about using these items. I was hoping to have gotten some of the Mirabella stuff that was available but unfortunately not this month. There are several items in this bag from brands that I have never tried so this is good...right? It's the reason why I signed up for monthly beauty box/bag subscription service. I will keep you guys posted if any of this stuff is really great. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Thanks for stopping by :)

New Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hr Cream Eyeshadows Swatches and Review

Hello my fellow makeup lovers!

Is everyone excited for the weekend? It's almost Friday....yeah!!! Well I hope whatever your plans are for this weekend that you enjoy it :) My plans......umm they consist of more packing and moving furniture to storage :/ yeah I know it's exciting, right??

Today I've tried 3 times to upload a new video onto YouTube but of course nothing today is working for me. Complete Fail! I wanted to upload my video on my Ipsy May 2013 glam bag which came in the mail this past Tuesday and a lil drugstore haul on my most recent Maybelline purchases. I'll try again tomorrow to upload but in the meantime, this post will have to do.

So I recently was at Walmart shopping for travel sized toiletry and found myself drifting to the makeup aisle....of course! Like I could stay away, haha. I found these new Color Tattoo 24 hr cream eyeshadows. I have several of these babies and I love them. I've shown a few in previous monthly beauty favorites. These cream eyeshadows are so different from any that I have tried in the past. My eyelids are very oily so cream shadows in pots or sticks forms are a complete no no for me. It doesn't matter if I use a really good eyeshadow primer, by the end of the day it's all creased up looking pretty awful. These cream eyeshadows actually last a long time with or without a primer for me. Maybelline came out with these cool cream shadows sometime last year and seems to be a major hit amongst fellow makeup bloggers/gurus and makeup lovers. I'm excited to continue using these and I look forward to purchasing new ones.

I have 3 new shades to share with you guys today. Two of the cream shadows are limited edition so if you really likey then head to your local walmart or drugstore. I think I picked some really good ones :) I hope you enjoy the pictures and some swatchy goodness below. "Inked in Pink"

"Inked in Pink" I think this is such a beautiful everyday kinda shade.

"Waves of White" *Limited Edition Shade*

"Waves of White" This is very unique shade.
It has the most beautiful blue & lilac duo chrome.

"Blue Paradise" *Limited Edition Shade*

"Blue Paradise" I love this color, unique as well.
It has a blue, green & purple duo chrome. It has a really nice metallic finish.

Michael Todd True Organics Skincare Review & Initial Impressions

Hi everyone!

First off I'd like to say Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers out there. I hope this day is a great one for each and every one of you!!!

Earlier today I uploaded a new video reviewing and sharing my initial thoughts/impressions of my skincare regime. A link to my beauty channel will be at the end of this post. I am currently using the Michael Todd True Organics skincare for acne/oily skin. I started off using small 1oz. travel sized products from their discovery kits for my skin type. I order two of those kits back in April and I am currently using my last little bit from the second kit. So I figured I would do a review since I received my order yesterday of all full size products. I really like how this brand offers great skincare products at an affordable price. I feel great after using these products, 2 thumbs up!

I have been using Michael Todd True Organics for about 3 weeks. I really love the smell, feel and packaging of all the products. I am going to review briefly each product and then do a follow up in a few weeks.

*Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Cleanser: This cleanser is very different from anything that I have tried in the past. The color looks like dirty gray muddy water but the smell is very spa like. It's comforting and soothing! This cleanser is suppose to provide a deep cleansing which is great for oily/acne prone skin. I have started noticing clearer skin in just 3 weeks, whoop whoop! Full size is 7 oz. for $24

*Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub: I am so nuts about this product, haha! I have never been this crazy about a skincare item like this before. The color is dark gray and smells very clean. This scrub stands alone when compared to others. It can be used everyday up to twice daily. I love how the scrubby particles are round wax beads. If you take a tiny bit of this product on the back of your hand and rub it into your skin, you can actually see colorless round beads. Most scrubs are not made completely round leaving jagged edges that can actually harm your skin and cause tiny microscopic lacerations...no buenos! Full size is 3.4 oz for $18----> very affordable!

*Organic Lemon AHA & DMAE Toner: Toners have never been my thing. I always thought they were pointless since they would sting and leave my skin very dry feeling and looking. This toner is different as well. It smells like lemons, hence the name lol. It doesn't make my skin feel tight nor does it sting, yay!! Finally a toner that does what it claims. This toner doesn't contain alcohol. Full size is 7.8 oz for $18----->also affordable, which I love.

*Moisture Lite Non Oily Hydrating Lotion: Y'all this is hands down the best smelling product I have every used. It smells like freshly squeezed lemons!! I love smelling like a walking basket of fresh lemons. I love how this moisturizer makes my skin feel hydrated and comfortable. I was shocked to feel this way because all moisturizers made for oily skin are always too thin and not hydrating enough. It's perfect. Full size is 2.4 oz for $29

The only item from the discovery kit for acne/oily skin that I didn't repurchase full size is the Kaolin Clay mud mask. The only reason why I didn't order it is because I still have some of this product left from my first discovery kit. Since I bought 2 kits in April, I have two 1oz. bottles of the kaolin clay mask. I only use a tiny bit twice a week, probably like a quarter size amount. I try to apply this product right before I hop in the shower so that the hot steam can open up my pores for deeper cleaning.
I hope this some what mini review is helpful to you guys. If you guys have additional questions on anything that I didn't mention you can leave your questions here or on my channel. Click on this link for my beauty channel.

Bright Cobalt Blue Tutorial

Hey guys!

A few days ago I posted a new tutorial on my YouTube beauty channel "Bright Cobalt Blue". I created a look using an intensely pigmented matte cobalt blue eyeshadow from the Urban Decay Vice palette. One of my loyal subscribers asked if I could do a look using that color.....so this is what I came up with. I love it. It's also perfect for those with brown eyes because blues make brown eyes pop. It also makes the whites of your eyes whiter!! It's definitely bolder and more intense than my everyday neutral look but it's so fun to go outside the box every now and again. Hopefully this will inspire you guys to wear or do something outside your norm :) I hope you enjoy the pictures below! If you would like to see a video tutorial on this look please click on this link-------> http://www.youtube.com/user/GlamourbyLexi/featured

Products used:
NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in "milk"
Urban Decay Vice palette
Urban Decay eyeliner pencil in "zero"

Magazine Project

Hello everyone & Happy Monday!!

So today I decided that I was going to share my little project with you guys. As some of you know I am currently packing and getting ready for a move in a few weeks. I have been going through some of the things I own and deciding whether to keep or donate. One of the things I came across is my huge stash of old beauty magazines! As I have mentioned before I have been saving old magazine for a looong time...why? Who needs magazine from *cough* 2009 *cough*! Well I do know for sure is that I wanted them for inspiration for future videos and that's' about it, hahaha! The funny thing is that I have not even read an old magazine in about a year or probably longer, so basically I'm becoming a magazine hoarder...yikes!

Don't we all at some point hold onto things thinking we'll use it in the future? Well, for me this hoarding thing is getting a bit out of control and I know that taking tons of magazines back to Texas is not a good idea. So instead of throwing them away because lets face it, I did spend money on those mags, I have decided to start a lil project!

My project consists of taking large amounts of time to go through each and every magazine and cutting out the pages I want.......wish me luck :(  I plan on putting these torn pages into some sort of organizer, maybe a binder? It definitely won't take up a lot of my storage space any longer. At one point I wanted to use those pages to decorate my makeup studio in Texas but I'm not sure if that's still a go. I figured that I could condense my stash to one binder. So if any of you guys are holding onto old magazines like me, you can start a project to get rid of the unnecessary. The bonus is that you will now have a new area of open storage that isn't taken up by piles of magazines :) Isn't it spring cleaning time anyway??

I hope this blog post makes sense and maybe in a future video I can show you guys my progress. I hope 2 weeks is enough time to finish this while still packing my entire house, lol. If you would like to see any of my beauty videos, click on the link below :)
