Have you ever tried to use your foundation brush that seems to be scratchy on your skin or that doesn't seem to spread the foundation effortlessly? Here's a tip to help solve that problem. Apply a little bit of facial moisturizer to the back of your hand, then swipe your foundation brush back and forth as if you were apply foundation to the back of your hand. This important step before using your foundation brush, will allow the foundation to glide on smoothly without the bristles feeling scratchy.

This step takes seconds but makes all the difference, :)

Makeup tip #3

Hey everyone! It's time for my makeup tip for this week. Do you wish that your lipstick would last longer throughout the day? Of course there are lip stains out there in the market but some of them don't last the 8 hours it claims and some brands don't offer a wide range of colors. Follow these easy steps to achieve longer lasting lipcolor....

The first thing you should always do is moisturizer your lips. I like to use lip butters or even healing lip balms at night. I keep one in my bathroom and my nightstand. Dry lips don't mix well with lipstick regardless of the cost. Since lips are the last step in completing any look, apply your choice of moisturizing lip balm first so by the end of applying your makeup, your lips will be all ready to go. Once the lip balm soaks into your lips, then start lining your lips with a lipliner that matches the lipstick. After lining your lips, start filling them in with the lipliner. This will ensure that your lipliner in locked onto your lips. Then apply your choice of lipstick. If you want you can also apply a clear gloss over it. And you're finished!

Enjoy these easy steps to make your lipstick last a little bit longer than usual.

Haul Video

Hey everyone! I uploaded a new video today. If you haven't watched it please do so. I'll put a link at the end of this post. I just wanted to list the products I purchased and mention where I bought them from. As I do these tutorials and/or haul videos I would also like to include any dupes that I may know of that would be great substitutes for certain products. I feel like this would be helpful. I don't always use products that are still currently out in the market. Everyone knows about the infamous MAC cosmetics...if you're not one of the first lucky ones then unfortunately when products run out, that's it :/ So here's the list. Enjoy! Check my recent haul video at http://www.youtube.com/user/glamourbylexi

Tip #2

Whether you are starting your makeup collection or expanding on the one you have, you always need some type of foundation/base. If your skin in clear of any type of break outs simply use a good quality concealer to conceal any scars, redness or dark circles you may have. Once this step is done then follow with a tinted mositurizer. Why use foundation if you don't really need coverage? Lucky you! After the tinted mositurizer, apply your favorite blush and you're done! Now if you do need foundation for whatever reason, again invest the money in a really great quality concealer so therefore you can use perhaps a drugstore brand foundation. In the past few years drugstore foundations have come a long way so it's not a bad idea.
**One helpful foundation tip......if you are looking for foundation in your brand of choice, look to see if that brand offers foundations for certain skin types. Go with the one according to your skin (Normal, Oily, Combination, or Dry) these will work the best and last the longest.
